Oil sands mining is challenged by the accuracy of a mine model and ability to predict ore and waste in some mine areas on a timely basis (hour/shift). Ellington Geological Services have partnered with equipment manufacturers and subject matter experts to develop a suite of high-throughput, ruggedized, technologies to quantify water, bitumen, and fines in orebody samples. With extensive experience in the Oil Field, Ellington Geological Services are excited to offer our quantitative services to the Oil Sands mining industry. The suite of services is based on non-destructive core scanning by optimized Spectral Gamma-ray Spectroscopy (SGR) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). At the sample scale, the same technologies have been built around analyzing representative sample sizes and automated data acquisition. The technology design is applicable to Core, Mine Face, Crusher/Blender, Process Lines, and Tailings data options. Deployment potential covers many mine locations. The small equipment footprint and no sample preparation allows a safe and simple stream of water, bitumen, and fines data to impact Oil Sands mine operations.
